Domain connection to Therapy Site Builder for those who purchased a domain name from Namesilo.com
- Navigate to www.namesilo.com
- Log in to your account (https://www.namesilo.com/login.php)
- On the right margin, there will be an area that says "Account Options" - the 2nd option down is "domain manager." Click this option.
- Click on your domain name
- Navigate to the line that says "DNS Records" - if you have trouble finding it, simply do a "ctrl + F" and type "DNS" and it will guide you to where it is
- Off to the right side you will see a little icon that almost looks like a little earth symbol - click "update"
- On the page you are directed to next look for the text "Existing Resource Records"
- Click the red X to delete any of the existing records - IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SETUP YOUR EMAIL you will see MX records. IF this is the case, DON'T delete the MX records. You will also have one "TXT" record that has a description of something like "google-site-verificaiton." Leave this "TXT" record as well (don't delete). If you haven't setup email yet, you will not see these MX or TXT records, so you don't need to worry about it.
- Open a new tab and log into Therapy Site Builder
- On the left-hand margin, you'll notice a gear icon
- As you hover over the gear icon, it will show "website settings" - click on this gear icon
- On the list that now appears, click domains (should be 2nd item down on menu you're looking at)
- Look for and click the blue button that says "connect a domain"
- Enter your domain name exactly as it is spelled then click "connect domain"
- Instructions will pop-up...don't exit out of these yet
- Navigate back to your Namesilo tab...Where it says "Select the resource record type you want to create..." go ahead and click the capital "A."
- You'll now see a place that has a box for "hostname" and IPV4 address. You'll need to navigate back to Therapy Site Builder for the text you'll have to enter into each of these boxes.
- Under "hostname" in your Namesilo tab you'll probably do an "@" symbol if that's what your instructions say.
- Under your "Value" column in Therapy Site Builder, do a copy (ctrl + c or use your mouse to highlight and copy) on the number below the value field. Navigate back to Namesilo tab and "paste" the information into the IPV4 text entry box.
- Hit the orange submit button
- Go back to where it says "select the resource record type you want to create..." and this time select "CNAME"
- Follow the same process as you did with previous record by putting "www" under the "hostname" box and other information under the "Target Hostname" box.
- Click Submit
- Connecting your domain name to your website can take up to one day to complete. However, in my experience, it is usually an hour or two before the changes propagate.
- Type your domain name into your internet browser URL box after a couple of hours to see if your website pops up. If so, it's working and you're good to go :)
